Cesare - A Short Film by Nicola Borsari from Borsari Nicola on Vimeo.
Born in 1993 in Borgo Lares, a small village in Central Giudicarie, Cesare holds a degree in energy engineering from the University of Trento and Bolzano and deals with energy saving and renewable energy.
It all began with the Italian Junior title and two Italian Promesse Titles, as well as the Italian under-23 jersey in cross-country and victories in races of international importance.
The “definitive explosion” of Cesare happens in 2016 season, first by becoming vice national champion in long-distance mountain running, Italian relay champion in mountain running, and then by wearing his first senior blue jersey at the European Specialty Championships in Arco, where, with a fifth individual place, he gained the decisive points to join the Italian team as European Champion.
Season 2017 brought him to the Absolut Italian Title victory of Long-Distance Mountain Running; in 2018 Cesare won the silver medal at the European Mountain Running and awarded the second tricolor place in half marathon; in 2019 he became vice world champion in Argentina.
After two years’ stop from competitions due to Covid and after a minor injury, Cesare hits his big goal: the gold medal at the European Championships in Spain, with a sensational victory in the individual uphill race.
Two days later the gold medal, the new champion did not stop and took part also to the individual uphill and downhill race, climbing onto the second step of the podium.
The gold and the silver medal, contributed to bring the Italian Mountain-Running team to the top of the European Speciality Championships and to reach the first place in the final medal table of the Continental Mountain and Trail Running Event.
