San Giovanni Castle, Bondone
a captivating positionThe Trentino castles include San Giovanni Castle. Besides its architecture, its position is definitely captivating. Located on a high rock spur in Baitoni, in the city of Bondone, this castle has a breathtaking panorama.
Visitors to this Trentino castle are welcomed by the great studded door which is reached via a drawbridge. From here, the courtyard is reached. It extends in a semi-circle towards the valley.
In the 50s, the castle was purchased by Luigi Cavalli of Milan who died here tragically.
San Giovanni Castle still maintains its mysterious aspect with rooms and secrets that may never be revealed.
How to get hereThe castle can only be reached on foot via the dirt road walk from the car park along the road between Baitoni and Bondone in the locality of Saltone (20 minutes) or the path from Baitoni, near the car park in the locality of Miralago (30 minutes).
