The San Vigilio small church
SAN VIGILIOAlong the banks of Sarca river, near the sport centre, appears the small church dedicated to San Vigilio.
The church stands on a rocky promontory that is not afraid of being hit by the river. The ancient road leading to Rendena Valley once passed in front of the small church.
Next to the facade of the church leaning against the bell tower is a niche with a granite boulder inside, on which, according to the inscription, the body of San Vigilio was laid, accordiing to tradition.
THE HEADSTONESOn the right side are tombstones from the cholera cemetery that was destroyed to build the road from the Lower Arno to Sesena. The small sacristy has medieval frescoes and a stone grate.
