Experience fishing in a high altitude setting. You can sleep or stop for a break at the San Giuliano refuge.
The lakes of S. Giuliano and Garzonè are located at an altitude of almost two thousand metres (1,940, to be precise) and are the ideal destination if you love to fish in a dreamlike atmosphere. The two basins are surrounded by the peaks of Corno Alto, La Cingla and La Costaccia. A pine forest surrounds them and they can be reached via trail 221. You can drive to Pozza delle Vacche (1,485 metres above sea level) and then walk along the route to the glacial basin that houses the pair of lakes. Fishing for local fish (alpine and source char) is possible on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from the thaw until the end of September. Next to the lakes there is a refuge with six rooms that can accommodate up to 22 guests.
