Valle del Chiese has always been a borderland, a quality highlighted by various episodes from its history, particularly by the Great War on Mount Adamello. This borderland status is evident at the Museum dedicated to the so-called White War, the Austro-Hungarian cemetery in Bondo, and the area’s forts and castles.
Casa Marascalchi in Cimego, Casa Bonus in Bondo, the Rio Caino ethnographic trail, the Praso Wood School and the Darzo mines are also proof of a strong Alpine identity.
