The fish population is made up of:

  • marble trout, including large examples;
  • native and stocked brown trout, rainbow trout, hybrids, grayling;
  • arctic char, in high mountain lakes.

The zones of Sarca

The Sarca River features a variety of specific zones and environments for different fishing techniques: waters under ordinary management, No-Kill zones, fishing zones where fish are introduced and Special Reserves.

The following fishing techniques are permitted in the Alto Sarca:

  • fly fishing (wet or dry)
  • spin fishing
  • fishing with natural bait

Gold Fishing Pass

The Gold Fishing Pass is a permit that gives you 500 km of water for three free days of fishing between two of the most important basins in Trentino: Alto Sarca and Alto Chiese.


Garda Dolomiti Superfishing

A single permit, purchasable from the Trentino Fishing portal, to fish, in no-kill mode, in different areas of south-western Trentino, from Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites, which includes the territories of 6 different fishing associations

When you first purchase a permit for the Madonna di Campiglio lake
you will need to add to the cost of the permit the FIPSAS membership card which
costs € 5 for daily permits and € 10 for seasonal permits.
With the purchase of a third daily permit of 3 or 6 catches you will be able to
benefit from a € 5 discount within 10 days of the first purchase.
The FIPSAS terssera is valid for 1 year with insurance cover from the date of issue
Fishing lessons are inclusive of equipment, bait and permit.


Highlights 2024:

  • Fishing season opens: 24 February 2024
  • Fishing guides available
  • Webcams on the River Sarca, viewable online
  • Fishing season officially closes: 30 September 2024. Once again, an exception will be made this year along part of the Alto Sarca for fishing during October, in accordance with specific regulations regarding zones and types. Finally, exclusively for the Ponte Pià lake, fishing for white fish will be possible until the end of November.

The hunt for Trentino’s fine fish continues into October!
From 01/10/2024 to 31/10/2024, fishing in Alto Sarca and Alto Chiese is permitted only if using the fly-fishing or light spin techniques and on a C&R basis.
