Location
Poggio dei Casinei / Madonna di Campiglio
Description
In a small clearing between Vallesinella and Val Brenta, Rifugio Casinei is one of the first opportunities many hikers making the climb up from Madonna di Campiglio have to experience the Brenta Dolomites. From here, you can head out towards the main mountain lodges of this range, but Casinei can also serve as a stop along the spectacular circuit up through the Vallesinella falls, which features bridges, natural springs, and caves. The lodge itself was built in 1909 and has always been managed by the Serafini family.
Access
From Madonna di Campiglio, road to Ristorante Vallesinella – 5 km. Parking. From Vallesinella, once past the park gatehouse, head over the bridge and continue on trail no. 318 (ESC) – about 1 hour.

Sunset / Landscapes
An easy hike of about one hour from the Vallesinella parking area, the lodge has one of the best views of the Brenta-Crozzon landscape and is an ideal spot for late-afternoon or sunset shots due to the favorable angle of the sun. Clouds, which are always a welcome sight for landscape photography, will enhance your composition and give greater impact to your photos.
Best spot
In order to enjoy the view and get the best shot, head past the lodge on your left and follow the marked trail for about 150 meters/ 164 yards until you find the natural viewpoint over the Brenta valley (but be careful). Position you tripod wherever you prefer and give it a shot!
Time
Late afternoon and until sunset
