Vallesinella Falls - M. di Campiglio

Vallesinella Falls M title=

Vallesinella Falls

Location
Madonna di Campiglio / Vallesinella

Description
Together with the Nardis falls in Val Genova, the upper and middle Vallesinella falls are the most famous waterfalls of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. This natural treasure is easily accessible on foot, and these majestic falls are an ideal subject for stunning photos in an amazing landscape.

Access
TUR | QP 1,515m (4,970 ft) | QA 1,650m (5,415 ft)

UPPER FALLS
From Madonna di Campiglio, road to Ristorante Vallesinella – 5 km. Parking.
From here, follow the trail that heads out to the left of the parking area and into the forest. Follow the rolling hills of the trail for about 30 min. along the Sarca river. Towards the end, the trail climbs slightly, and the view opens up to the first of the river’s lovely little falls.
Soon after (beware of slippery rock), the trail turns sharply to the left and the upper falls in all their splendor come into view.
Return trip options:

a) continue along the trail as it zigzags up to the right through a series of wood bridges and up to the Piana di Vallesinella highland (20 min.) and then return to the parking area along a leisurely downhill trail that is marked (to Rifugio Vallesinella) at the beginning of the highland;
b) return back along the same trail taken to reach the falls.
MIDDLE FALLS
From the Rifugio Vallesinella parking area, head down briefly along the paved road and then head into the woods on the marked trail to the left (Cascate di Mezzo). Follow the trail until you find the majestic middle falls (20 min. approx.).

THEMES

Season
Spring and autumn in particular, but we recommend late spring during the thaw to experience the falls in their full splendor.

Time
Better early or late in the day, because the midday sun (from 11 AM to 3 PM) shines directly on the falls and creates significant challenges of burnout and overexposure.

Notes
ND filters and tripod for long exposures (silk effect).
