A short but evocative ring-route along a part of the defensive posts of the barrage of Fontanabona. The cultural and historical trail is dedicated to Major Anton Malina, a figure of great importance in the context of the events of the White War as he was the longest-serving Austro-Hungarian officer in command of the Fontanabona Sub-Sector
The easy path near Fontanabona lead you to discover the traces of the Great War: trenchesremains, emplacements, rock caves, terraces that were used as some shacks’ bases - the soldiers’ shelters.
From Carisolo follow the road to Val Genova up to the Trenches Bridge, placed a little after the end of the steep ascent ”Scala di Bo”; cross the bridge and follow a ring-route along the orographic right of the river, then come back to the starting point and follow another ring-route on the opposite bank of the river.
Suggested itinerary for the enthusiasts of history and war finds.
