The second leg of crossing the crest of Monte Cadria is as spectacular as the first but with fewer complications, while still offering a thrill. You’ll stay at the historic Rifugio Pernici, with its magnificent view.
From Malga Casinot, go up to the Bocca dell'Ussol and then towards the Cima Gavardina (2,047 m) encountering some challenging passages (use of the hands in the easy first degree passages); and then on towards the Dosso della Torta (2. 156 m, at the time the border between the Bondo and Riva del Garda sectors), Bocchetta di Slavazza (2,048 m, fixed ropes), Tofino (2,151 m), Corno di Pichea (2,138 m) and Mazza di Pichea (1,879 m). From Bocca di Trat you descend to the 1,600 m Nino Pernici refuge (tel. +39 0464 505090 - 349 3301981, www.pernici.com).
