This church was the common parish of the three small towns that over time merged to form the town of Spiazzo, namely Fisto, Borzago and Mortaso.
Each of them had built their own altar inside the building: the Rosary, Our Lady of the Snow and Our Lady of Sorrows. Between the 1930s and 1940s, the church underwent important additions and architectural changes of a Renaissance style and it was during this period that Simon II carried out internal and external decorations, some of which still survive today. In particular, the nave, the front, the intrados and the arches that house the side altars. As for the frescoes, you can admire the cycles of the Stories of the Virgin and the Stories of Saint Stephen.
STRENGTH:
Legend has it that the church was built on the exact spot where the martyrdom of San Vigilio took place, in the fourth century, by the local people still devoted to the pagan religion.
