Giovanni Battista Righi, an enterprising entrepreneur from Strembo, was a great supporter of tourism in Madonna di Campiglio.
In 1912, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of his death, a monument was dedicated to him, represented by a large granite sculpture symbolising the mountains, with a bronze plaque bearing the effigy of the Righi and the shield with the eagle, the coat of arms of the sat created by the artist Trentino Remo Stringari.
