Canalone Miramonti: A Worldwide Ski Run! title=

Canalone Miramonti

Planned by the alpinist Bruno Detassis, the “Lord of Brenta”, director of the first ski school in Madonna di Campiglio in 1940 as well, Canalone Miramonti is a legend of ski.

It is a challenging and technical piste and in 1967 the first World Cup ski race in Italy took place here: on the podium the French triple Perillat, Jauffret, Lacroix. On this ski run, many World Cup and European Cup races took place, and also several editions of the 3Tre competition, the famous event born in 1948 and that every December will take place. The appointment of the 3TRE - AUDI FIS SKI WORLD CUP NIGHT SLALOM is scheduled for December 22, 2022

The slope starts at 1725 m and arrives at 1545 m. It is 550 m long, with a descent of 180 m, a medium gradient of 27% and a maximum gradient of 60%.

On the Canalone Miramonti, Ingemar Stenmark, the best skier of all times, won 8 races (5 special slaloms and 3 giant slaloms) and the best Italian skier Alberto Tomba won here in 1987, 1988 and 1995.

The Swede, who holds the record of successes on the Canalone Miramonti, last March was back to the place of his first career victory after over 30 years from last time. In Madonna, an unexpected meeting with the other 3Tre legend, Alberto Tomba.
