ROUTE
Beautiful trail for snowshoeing in a quiet and relaxing environment.
The start is at the Boazzo power station in Val Daone (1229 m). Follow the dirt road to the waterfall "Regina del lago" (lit. Queen of the lake)and about 300 m after, on the right, you take the steep path no. 26 that leads to Val di Leno.
For the first half hour you walk up a rather challenging path, which is usually icy in the upper part. Past the waterfall, it becomes less rough and in a short time you are close to Malga Leno (1496 m). Follow the path and the tracks that are always visible; you cross small clearings that allow you to fully enjoy the sounds and silence of the mountain in winter.
On the right orographic bank of the Rondon river, before the last rather steep ascent, the path leads to a fir forest. After about a 20-minute walk among fir trees and larches, you reach the beautiful amphitheatre of Malga Gelo (1867 m). From here you can admire the winter peaks that surround this valley: Monte Gelo, Monte Blumone, Monte Listino, Monte Rossola and Monte Re di Castello.
