Madonna del Lares Sanctuary church in Bolbeno
THE CHURCH LEGENDThe place where the “Madonna del Lares Sanctuary” appears, is a meeting point for pilgrims and a really loved place by Giudicarian Population.
The legend tells that the Madonna del Lares painting was found hanging from a larch tree. After being moved several times by the faithful to a more accessible location, the morning after it was hanging from that tree again.
Thus, a chapel was built on that spot, which was replaced by a capital in 1586; a small church was built in 1770, which was in turn enlarged to its current form around 1850.
The inner partThe inner part, with an ornate nave, held numerous votive offerings while in the altar niche, a Madonna holds a rose in her right hand and a baby on her left arm.
