The ancient San Barnaba church
THE ORIGINS AND THE BUILDINGThe San Barnaba church, located in the historical city centre of Bondo, is a 17th century structure whose origins date back to the medieval centuries.
It has a rectangular map with a single nave and a circular apse flanked by two sacristies, result of continuous building interventions from the 16th to the 20th century.
THE RENOVATIONSThe most recent work, concerning an overall restoration of the structure, dates back to the years ’98 and ’99. The church building has now become an important location for contemporary art exhibitions, thanks to the launch of a fruitful collaboration between the municipal administration, the parish and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (MART).
