The new Sant'Andrea church
THE JOSEPH HEINZ CANVASESBetween 1861 and 1863, a new larger church building was built in a more central location than the old church, from which it inherited the name as well as some valuable altarpieces including two magnificent paintings by Joseph Heinz the young (17th century).
Oriented to the north, it lies close to the road that crosses the Chiese Valley and leads to Rendena Valley.
THE BUILDING The rectangular map, with a longitudinal major axis, preserves valuable wall paintings made in 1946 by the painter Adolfo Mattielli, while the monumental facade, in neo-Romanesque style, is characterised by a decorated main door, a large rose window and two statues placed on the sloping roofs.
