The Great War Museum in Valle del Chiese
The associationIn july 1991 an association was established, composed by volunteers and passionate seekers, which through the setting up of the museum, aim to remember and bear witness to the tragedy, misery and suffering endured by soldiers and the local population during that tragic historical period.
The researchSince that time, in addition to the museum opening service in July and August, and after the request of those who were particularly interested, research activities have also been carried out, according to two main strands: the first one concerns the consultation of documents to the Army General Staff in Rome, while the second one involves the research of war findings in the mountains ranging from Garda, with the Pre Alpi Ledrensi, to Adamello.
The exhibitsThey range from bombs to pistol, from guns to bladed weapons, as well as kitchens, camp beds, sleds, skis, sniper shields, original uniforms, bottles and inkwells, helmets and hats, plans of fortifications and gas masks.
the Adamello Great War itineraryIn addition to this there is the Adamello Great War itinerary that visits an Italian high mountain lookout cabin and entry to an Austro-Hungarian tunnel used as a shelter and storage for the troops.
