DBT Stage 1: Rifugio Peller - Bivacco Costanzi

DBT Stage 1: Rifugio Peller - Bivacco Costanzi title=

First stage of the Dolomiti di Brenta trek from Rifugio Peller to Bivacco Costanzi
The SAT 336 “Claudio Costanzi” trail connects Pian della Nana to Rifugio Graffer and is classified overall as an Equipped Alpine Trail. The actually equipped section is not part of the DBT loop and starts at Passo di Pra Castron, below Cima Sasso Rosso, and reaches Rifugio Graffer: this trail must be tackled with via ferrata equipment and can be tricky due to exposure and very wild, little-frequented environment. The section of SAT 336 trail that concerns the DBT has no technical difficulties and is therefore considered a simple hiking path.

  • Water supplies along the route: Rifugio Peller, Malga Clesera and Bivacco Costanzi
  • Those staying overnight at Bivacco Costanzi can ask Rifugio Peller to prepare a "packed dinner". Alternatively, cheese can be purchased at Malga Clesera.
  • The Pian della Nana is a vast plateau inhabited by marmots and herds of sheep, cows, goats, horses and donkeys. Between May and June the meadows are colored with a thousand hues thanks to the spectacular flowering phenomenon.
