Sentiero della Pace 2: Rifugio Mandron to Rifugio Fontanabona

Sentiero Della Pace 2: Rifugio Mandron To Rifugio Fontanabona title=

This medium-length stage in the heart of the Adamello Park is almost downhill, taking you from typical high-altitude landscapes of glaciers and jagged peaks to the greenery of Val Genova, which thrives on the meltwater from above.

From the Mandron Refuge, following path 212, it takes just a few minutes to reach the ‘Julius Payer’ Adamello Study Centre (2,493 m), where a permanent exhibition allows visitors to learn about the Adamello, the largest of the Italian glaciers (in this section, the Sentiero della Pace coincides with the Virgilio Marchetti Nature Trail). Continuing on, it takes less than two hours to reach the Adamello Collini refuge 'al Bedole' (1,631 m, tel. +39 0465 501405) and then by carriage road (about 8 km) to Ponte Maria (1,164 m) and the Fontanabona refuge.
