Santa Margherita parish church and painting "Lamentation over the Deposed Christ".
Its origins are very ancient and its current form would be the point of arrival of a long series of modifications and extensions implemented to the original, also changing its orientation, starting from a first building much smaller than 1345. Only in 1523 did a second enlargement of the church take place and in 1765 a third enlargement, which added the sacristy and the presbytery. Entering the church, the frescoes by the Venetian Valentino Pupin and Johann Matthias Peskoller stand out. In addition, since 2002 there has been a large painting on the right altar (1.92 m x 1.48 m) depicting the "Lamentation over the Deposed Christ", a very ancient work, perhaps dating back to the 16th century, which would make it one of the first examples of painting on canvas in Val Rendena. It is likely that he arrived in Bocenago in the second half of the nineteenth century, following the suppression of the convents. Over time, he underwent several restorations.
STRENGTH:
Of particular interest was the recovery of the frescoed fragments dating back to the fifteenth century.
